Speaking about “Glocal” Association Strategy at WIAF

In mid-October, Colm spoke at the inaugural WIAF (Washington International Association Forum) in Washington DC, organised by our friends at Association World.
The event was rich in discussions about the challenges of creating and maintaining global associations.
Across two days, topics covered governance, communities, branding, cross cultural communications, partnerships, event legacy and much more – always examined from the perspective of associations who are striving to be more representative, inclusive, valuable and relevant for their members around the world.
On the second event day Colm shared the stage with Susan Mosedale, Chief Global Member Engagement Officer at our long term clients ASIS International. Together, they presented a world tour looking at how ASIS International operates “glocally” and delivers value at local, regional, and global levels.
Included in the session was a deep dive into how the Exempla team supports ASIS with strategy development and project delivery in Europe. We looked at how we redesigned ASIS’ flagship European event to tailor it for the regional community, and at how a European regional value proposition was created which emphasised the elements of the association’s broad portfolio which are most relevant and impactful in Europe.
Our congratulations and thanks to Kai Troll and all the Association World team for putting the together.
